Cleaning Cashmere Sweaters
  • Hand wash in lukewarm water using a mild soap. Be sure to dissolve all of the cleaner thoroughly and then put the sweater into the water. After washing, be sure to rinse until the water is clear. Then lay the sweater out flat away from heat and sun. Reshape the side seams and sleeves if necessary, as some sweaters will twist during washing.
  • Air fluff with no heat.
  • Sweaters should be washed after approximately 6-7 wearings to keeps them looking their best.
  • You can dry clean cashmere, however, if you do it on a regular basis it can reduce the life of the garment.
Storage
  • Always store your sweater in either a cedar chest or plastic bags to keep them moth free. Moths may also go after any food particles that may be on the garment, so it is very important to keep your garments clean.
  • Do not use a hanger to hang your sweater. Using a hanger will cause the sweater to loose its shape.
Tips to Wearing Cashmere
  • Allow your deodorant to dry completely before putting on your sweater.
  • Don't apply perfume while wearing your cashmere because it stains the fiber.
  • After wearing, air-fluff your sweater in the dryer to freshen and remove impurities. NO HEAT!
