Preventative Maintenance
Pre-treat your leather and suede garments at the
time of purchase, and periodically thereafter, with Style
16 Leather and Suede Protector.
Storage
Preserve the shape by using padded hangers when
drying, storing or just hanging your garments overnight.
Never cover your garments in plastic.
Store your leather in a
cloth garment bag, as leather and suede need to breathe.
Store your garment in a dust-free, ventilated closet.
Care When Wet
Blot dry your garment with a wet towel and allow
it to dry at room temperature away from any source of
heat.
Pressing
Most wrinkles will fall when left in a steamy bathroom.
When pressing use a dry iron set at a low temperature
with brown wrapping paper used as a press cloth. Press
lightly and quickly to prevent from overheating and
shining.
General Wear
Whenever possible a scarf, worn inside the neckline,
will keep hair and body oil away from the leather collar.
Dry Cleaning
Dry clean only when absolutely necessary and only by
a professional leather cleaner. Professional Leather
Cleaners use products that contain special cleaners
and oils to clean and condition while matching the leather
type.
If you need to dry clean two-piece leather and suede
outfits (i.e. vests and pants or skirt) clean all the
pieces together to ensure that the tones continue to
match.
